Virtual Lenten Lunches 20212 min read

St Peter’s Lenten lunches have run annually since 2008 in our Parish Hall.  All ingredients for the lunches and costs were completely sponsored by businesses and individuals in the local community and as a result the entire proceeds goes towards Drogheda Homeless Aid. The combined sum over the years totally 100,000 euro.

The idea behind the Lenten Lunches is that St Peters C of I reaches out to our local community and it is a fantastic way for people to donate to a worthwhile local charity. An added bonus was that as well as having a tasty lunch attendees had a great social event with chatting and laughing going on well after the food was consumed.

This year due to Coronavirus restrictions unfortunately physical gatherings are not possible but we are determined to keep the annual tradition of our lunches going – even if we do things a little differently by having Virtual Lenten Lunches. This year you cook and show everyone how you did.

Visit this dedicated webspage for a Weekly updated onLine experience. Here we ask you to follow our special weekly recipes or your own, prepare your lunch and share photos of your culinary delights with our online community.
