In early 2023 the internal walls were painted and scaffolding was gradually removed. Wall memorials which had been temporarially removed were replaced. There was a thorough clean and removal of building debris. The lights were repaired. The sound system was re-instated. The windows of the north and south porches were repaired and reglazed with specialist hand made glass supplied by the firm Glasshaus. A detailed Survey and Condition Report was done by Glasshaus on the top part of the East Window which depicts the night sky. It is hoped that restoration work on this part of the East Window can commence in 2024.
The Church was opened again for Church Services in November 2023 and a Carol Concert is planned for December 2023. And the Ardee Baroque Festival plan to hold two concerts in the Church in November 2023.
The Friends group continue to welcome all financial help to maintain and repair this important and historic building. Future work will be installation of bathroom facilities, and a small kitchen / canteen to make the building more suitable for visitors.
