During 2019 the Friends worked with Louth Co Council and professional advisors to locate contractors to re-slate the outer roof. And a further fund-raising Garden Party was held in Collon House in May 2019, assisted by the Lourdes Brass Band
Also in May 2019 in order to comply with public procurement policy a request for tenders from building contractors was publically put out on eTenders for 3 weeks. There were no replies to the public request for tenders on the eTender system. After the public procurement procedure was satisfied we continued to search for suitable contractors and five contractors were interviewed during summer and autumn 2019. Finally in November 2019 we were pleased to locate and agree terms with a suitable contractor and the roof work was planned to start in March 2020.
